Lesson 2: Team Building

• Whether it takes place in the workplace, on an athletic team, in a club, or in a classroom, team building significantly contributes to better motivation and trust among members of a group.

• Team building is one of the most important investments that companies will ever make, so we will continue to work on strengthening our relationships.
• Pick your partners. 3-4 in a group.
• The next activity we will work on is self-assessment called 16 Personalities. This is an opportunity for you to get a more concrete and accurate description of who you are and why you do the things the way you do.

• this test is not the be-all-end-all about you. This will give you an opportunity to reflect on who you are, but it doesn’t define you.

Lesson 1: Introduction to VIL

• Today we’re going to learn about a program in which we are participating called the Verizon Innovative Learning design thinking program. 
• We are going to watch a short video that was produced by Verizon. 
• HUGE need in STEM careers. 
• Are you thinking about any careers in the STEM industry? 
• Today, we will review a broad overview of what the Verizon Innovative Learning design thinking program is and what that will look like over the course of the project. 
• Introduction to Verizon Innovative Learning (VIL)
• ASU & Verizon Partnership
• Site visits from ASU staff
• 1 of 30 schools chosen out of 80 applicants
• Phoenix teacher summer institute & workshop 
• Read Odell's Story and answer the accompanying questions.

• watch the video
• click the flashing blue "power" button
• Arrow through the first three messages

• Use these skills to help yourself and other people in your world make good decisions about technology
