Day 48: Continue VIL Project

  • Develop out and / or improve your Prototype during the week of 4/3/18
    • Types
      • Storyboards
      • Tangible or interactive
        • Allows the user to give relevant feedback.
        • Help you learn by doing
    • Be rough
      • This is not a perfect representation, nor should it be the most important thing to you. The point is to test and learn.
    • Be quick
      • The faster you test, fail, succeed and get feedback, the faster you get to the best solution!
    • Gets easier with practice
      • If at first you don’t succeed…
      • Experimenting and failing forward, your learning will take you to new heights.
    • Be captured
      • Document your experience. Notes, pictures, drawings; the decisions you made, and what worked and did not work. 
      • This will all help you in becoming better at the design thinking process.
  • Choose a Sustainable Development Goal (or two) by 4/4/18
  • Create A/R Business Cards and Team Profile Picks by 4/9/18
    • HP Reveal Aurasma Demonstration
      • Create your business card (Trigger)
      • Link it to your introduction video (Overlay)
    • Create a Business Card in Canva
      • Logo
      • Name and Title
      • Contact Info
        • School Name and address, school phone (847-451-3000), 
      • Be Unique and Creative
  • Complete the construction of your presentation board by 4/13/18
  • Compose and rehearse your pitch presentation during the week of 4/16/18
    • Hook, Intro, Problem, Solution, Outcome, Ask
  • Prepare 2 minute Gallery Pitch for Gallery walk on 4/19/18
  • Three winners will move on to the the all-school showcase
  • One group will participate in the Chicago Regional Pitch Competition on May 12th.
    • the other two school finalists may be invited to attend and share their work during the gallery walk portion of the event

        • Purpose: Showcase their physical prototype created for the small business partner.
        1. Tablet:  PLEASE LABEL
        • Purpose: Showcase their Market research (Big Book of technology) and prototype (If students created an app)
        • 5 per school (2 per team)
        1. VR Headsets and 360 phone: PLEASE LABEL
        1. Purpose: Showcase student’s 360 school tour
        2. 5 headsets per school (2 per team)

        Session 2: Gallery Walk
        Who: All VIL Schools + VZ + ASU
        Session 3: Pitch Competition (Round 1)

        2. What: Internal School Pitch Competition
        • School’s two winning teams will compete against each other.
        • The winning team will move to the next round.
        • Students have 5 minutes to pitch.
        Session 4: Pitch Competitions (Round 2)
        1. Where: Larger Breakout Room
        2. What: VIL Regional School Pitch Competition
        • Each VIL school will compete against each other.
        • Students have 3 minutes to pitch
