Day 2: Online Organization

Google Drive
Using folders and file naming conventions will help one stay organized online and will help increase one's overall productivity.

Tasks:
  • As you go through this module, complete this worksheet.
  • As an introduction to Google Drive watch the Google Drive 2014 Tutorial - Quick Start video tutorial.
  • Watch the Create a Google Doc 2014 video tutorial.
  • To maintain consistency throughout the class and to allow you to find your own files more quickly, we will all use the same file folder structure in our Google Drives. Watch the video Google Drive Tutorial - Document Organization and then add the following sub-folders to your Digital Literacy folder on your Google Drive:
    • 01 Online Organization
    • 02 Digital Citizenship
    • 03 Social Media
    • 04 Digital Portfolio
    • 05 Computer Science
  • Since you will be using Google Apps and sharing documents frequently, watch the video Google Drive Tutorial - Sharing.
  • Then you need to "make a copy", rename, edit, share with anyone that has the link, and submit the Student Bio Doc Assignment using the Submission Form. (never share or email a document to me; use the submission form)
